Digital Media Expert
I have over 20 years of experience in data communications, software, semiconductor with a focus on media technologies. I helped to start several companies, including Pacific Microsonics which was acquired by Microsoft. At Microsoft, I was the Director of Microsoft’s Digital Media Division where I led Microsoft’s success in expanding Windows Media into consumer electronics, wireless and broadband applications. I served on the DVD Forum steering committee where I was instrumental in driving the adoption of Windows Media into the DVD standard. Some of my previous experience includes VP of Engineering at PMI, acquired by Microsoft, VP of Strategic Marketing at Aureal Semiconductor, VP / General Manager of Korg (Yamaha), and the early love of my life, Ensoniq (acquired by Creative Labs). At Ensoniq, we developed multiple generations of great affordable digital musical instruments including our first product the Ensoniq Mirage. Having helped transform the music and video industry, I'm now with Next Issue Media as VP of Business Development. We are developing and deploying an end to end digital publishing platform. I was a BSEE major at Drexel University in Philadelphia where I grew up and a MBA from Santa Clara University. In addition to the truely geeky things such as digital media, internet technologies and the like, I'm interested in global politics, business strategies, world soccer, goverment policy especially energy and transportation.
